The GOSSRA Project-Team developed the Extended GOSSRA Architecture Document (D8.3) by applying and adopting the NATO Architecture Framework v3 (NAF v3). This Framework includes many disciplines as architectural views for all different kinds of stakeholders in the soldier system community. The Extended GOSSRA Architecture is a comprehensive document, containing detailed information, printed on over 1000 pages. The dissemination level was defined to be restricted to consortium only. Therefore it is not made available for download.
As GOSSRA focused on providing an architecture for standardisation the non-standardisable parts of the Extended Architecture were removed within an iterative step. Leaving all aspects significant for standardisation summarised in the GOSSRA Architecture Document for Standardisation (D8.5), which contains all necessary information to derive a target architecture for soldier systems.
For increasing its readability the Document for Standardisation was split into seven volumes. Please click on a volume below for downloading:
- GOSSRA Architecture, Vol 1, NAV (NATO All View)
- GOSSRA Architecture, Vol 2, NCV (NATO Capability View)
- GOSSRA Architecture, Vol 3, NOV (NATO Operational View)
- GOSSRA Architecture, Vol 4, NSOV (NATO Service-Oriented View)
- GOSSRA Architecture, Vol 5, NSV (NATO Systems View)
- GOSSRA Architecture, Vol 6, NTV (NATO Technical View)
- GOSSRA Architecture, Vol 7, Security View (additional view by GOSSRA Team)
To complement the GOSSRA Architecture Document for Standardisation the GOSSRA Architecture Formal File for Standardisation (D8.4) was created. This is File was developed by applying the Software “Enterprise Architect” and contains all views from the GOSSRA Architecture Document for Standardisation (D8.5).

Ports for data exchange, in the personal domain of a soldier system, were defined within the GOSSRA Architecture Document for Standardisation (D8.5), but the definition of the data structures to be shared was excluded. Therefore a data model was derived using the STANAG 4677, as well as the current set of NATO Generic Vehicle Architecture Data Models which were found being applicable to soldier systems. The resulting set of structures can be considered a first draft for further improvement and should not be considered complete.
